We will do our best to credit the author of a recipe if we know whose it is. When we think we have something new, we do our best to see if someone has thought of it first. If they have, we will give them credit for that unless we’ve made significant changes either to the ingredients or the technique. Some recipes are so classic that they seem to belong to the community, such as Brownies. However, Brownies baked with a particular set f ingredients or with a particular technique might constitute enough of a change to call it our own
